Are You Ready For Some Football?

These puppies are!

Don't forget to watch the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet on Superbowl Sunday. I think it starts at 3PM. With 11 puppies, we'll be having our own Puppy Bowl right at home.

Puppy Nanny

Karen Chickering came to help with the pups and to give me a break for a couple days. It was so nice....she did the morning clean up, fed the pups breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and was on poop patrol all day. I didn't have to come home for lunch for 2 days! And I came home in the evening to a clean Puppyland! She even vacuumed my floors and did laundry!

Wilma and Kramer appreciated it too...they had company all day.

Because of Karen's help, I had time to go shopping at lunch and found a new toy for the munchkins at Goodwill. It's a kids Lego table. The legs fold in making it a perfect climbing gym for the puppies. And they loved it!

Karen and her husband Don have Paws mom Bongo. Bongo had her second litter on Jan. 22, 4 golden puppies. Her first was a big one, the 10 P's including Porter, Pharoh, Pepsi.... So I told Wilma, "See...it is possible to have a small litter after having a huge litter....".

THANK YOU, KAREN!

Weekend Visitors

Visiting officially started this weekend and once again, the puppies first visitors were Marilyn and Sherri, who helped me bring these little ones into the world. Since we're not next door neighbors anymore, they haven't seen the pups for a couple weeks. They were amazed at how big they've gotten.

Jennifer and Lisa came from Lansing to see the pups. Lisa is raising Grayson, a Paws puppy from the last "G" litter and Jennifer's Leader Dog puppy Marshall recently went into training and is doing well so far.

Elaine and Don are co-workers of mine who love dogs and all animals. They visited Wilma's first litter and were one of the first to schedule a visit with her newest litter.

Julie, Ron and their 2 boys Jordan and Spencer came by too. They've raised 2 Paws puppies. Mystic was their last and is now training with her new client.

I found that Puppyland is big enough for at least 4 grow-ups, 2 kids, 11 puppies and one mom dog! Everyone had fun playing with the puppies and the puppies took to all these new people very well. And Wilma greeted everyone with her smile!

Puppyland

Today was moving day for the puppies. I don't have the crazy Habtrail-like thing growing thru the house this time, thank goodness, but the whole dining room has been transformed into Puppyland. I think they objected to the new layout. There was a lot of crying and whining at first. But after they got over the initial shock and took a look around, they decided it was rather spacious, yet cozy.
When I put a crate in for the puppers to sleep in, Wilma jumped right in and curled up! Then a few pups climbed in with her for a drink.

Circle of Puppies

My dad has a candle holder called the Circle of Friends. It's based on the legend that when friends gather around a campfire at the end of the day and talk, they remain friends forever.

Here's my version...the Circle of Puppies. When puppies gather around a feeding bowl and share dinner, they grow up happy and healthy!

Playing Puppies

These little munchkins play more and more each day. They aren't very interested in puppy toys yet. But they sure like to paw, pounce, and bite on each other. And they like exploring in corners and tunnels and climbing on the step. It doesn't last long as they tire out very quickly.

Find the REAL Puppy

Can you find the real puppy?

Special thanks to Miss Red Rudy and Miss Pink Cupid for participating in this game.

Time To Eat!

Today the pups got their first taste of real food....and they LOVED it! It didn't take much coaxing at all to get them to eat. Some of them didn't need any guidance at all....they just stuck their face in and slurped.

It was messy and some were quite creative at it.

When Wilma stepped in to help with the clean up, Mr. Black decided to have an after dinner drink.

Afterwards, they all curled up together in their new bed.

Reindeer Names

For the first 7 weeks, while these little munchkins are living with me, their names are those of Santa's reindeer. Why the reindeer names? Why not...they were born 5 days after Christmas, still in the Holiday season. It just seemed fitting and it's fun.

Dasher (Yellow) and Dancer (Purple)

Prancer (Black) and Vixon (Hot Pink)

Comet (White) and Cupid (Pink)
Donner (Orange) and Blitzen (Blue)
Rudy (Red), the most famous reindeer of all and Olive, the other reindeer.
Sparty (Green), because there are no reindeer names left.
