This morning Catherine Peters, her mom Angela, sisters Margaret and Theresa and friend Hallie came to play. Catherine has spent the past 3 years raising Paws puppies and her latest, Taylor, was recently career changed and is currently in training to be an arson detection dog. Taylor will be Catherine's last Paws puppy for a while as she is heading off to college this fall.
Sunday, Jennifer Swearingen and her service dog Flurry came to visit. Flurry is Jen's 2nd service dog. Jennifer works at Consumers too so I've gotten to see Jen and Texas work together and Texas knew exactly what Jen needed help with and what to do. Jen was dogless for a while after Texas was retired when he broke his leg. Then last October, Flurry stepped in and I've gotten to see the training that Jen and Flurry go through with their field trainer. Jen and Flurry train together at work, in her office, sometimes in my office, walking the halls, and on the stairs. Flurry has learned a lot and is doing very well. I'm sure she will become certified very soon.
